Corey McLaughlin Jr.? 7 Interesting Facts About His Life

Many people know Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair from Stranger Things. Fans also ask about his older brother, Corey McLaughlin Jr. Corey has not spent his life in front of TV cameras. Reports say he works as a DJ, and he shares few facts about his personal life.

His story is more than a famous family link. His family, his love of music, and a recent talk by Caleb help us learn more. Here are seven interesting facts, plus what we know about Corey in 2026.

Quick Bio

He Grew Up in New York

Corey McLaughlin Jr. is from the Carmel area of New York, according to published family profiles. Carmel is north of New York City. It is a much quieter setting than the streets people often see in films about the city.

Caleb also grew up in this area before his work took him to big stages and TV sets. Corey was part of that same family home. Yet we do not have a full record of his school days or childhood friends. It is best not to fill those gaps with guesses. His hometown is one fact, not his whole story.

He Is Caleb McLaughlin’s Older Brother

Corey McLaughlin Jr. is not just a distant relative of the actor. He is Caleb’s older brother. In a Podcrushed talk released on December 31, 2025, Caleb said he had one older brother, one older sister, and one younger sister. During that chat, Caleb said his older brother was 36. The exact day Corey was born was not given.

So it would be wrong to print a made-up birthday or a firm age for every day of 2026. The brothers have a big age gap. They knew different trends while growing up. Caleb spoke about this gap in a warm and funny way.

He Comes From a Family of Four Children

There are four children in the McLaughlin family: Corey, Crystal, Caleb, and Caitlyn. Corey McLaughlin Jr. is one of the two older children. In the same podcast, Caleb said the siblings felt a bit like two pairs because of their ages. The older two grew up close in age. Caleb and his younger sister formed another pair.

He joked about the young siblings and the older siblings teasing each other. His words did not point to a real family fight. They showed that the children could laugh together. This is one of the clearest recent looks at their family life.

He Has Been Reported to Work as a DJ

Music is a big part of the public story of Corey McLaughlin Jr. A 2022 profile in Tuko described him as a DJ. A DJ picks and plays songs for people, often at a party or an event. This takes a good ear and timing. But the report did not give a full list of Corey’s shows or songs.

There is also no strong public source that confirms his work schedule in 2026. It is fair to say he has been reported to work as a DJ. It is not fair to claim he owns a music company, has won major awards, or plays at famous clubs without proof.

His Music Taste May Have Helped Shape Caleb’s

One newer detail makes Corey McLaughlin Jr. more interesting than an old family profile might suggest. In the December 2025 Podcrushed talk, Caleb said his older siblings helped him learn about dance and music. They played a part in building his taste in songs, including hits from the 2000s.

Caleb did not name each song or say which sibling played it first. Still, his older brother is part of the group he thanked. This matters because Caleb now acts, sings, and dances. Songs shared at home can stay with a child. Music may be a family link as well as a job for Corey.

His Parents Made Room for Art and Faith

Corey McLaughlin Jr. is the son of Corey McLaughlin and April McLaughlin. Older reports say April worked in marketing. Caleb has also said that their father is a pastor. In a 2025 interview with Square Mile, Caleb spoke about growing up in church. He said his parents let him find his own way in faith and the arts.

In his podcast talk, Caleb also recalled that his father had taken ballet lessons when he was young. This helps explain why dance was welcome in their home. Corey may have had other goals. But we can see that art, music, and family support were all part of the setting around them.

He Keeps His Life Out of the Spotlight

Corey McLaughlin Jr. is known mostly because Caleb became a star. Yet Corey is not listed as a cast member of Stranger Things. He did not play Lucas Sinclair; Caleb did. Public reports give few details about Corey’s home life, work plans, or relationships.

Some websites post exact figures for celebrity family members, but those figures can be hard to check. A guess is not a fact. Staying out of the spotlight does not mean someone has no story. It means we only know the parts that have been made public. Corey’s quiet public profile sets him apart from his well-known younger brother.

What Do We Know About His Sisters?

Corey also has two sisters, Crystal and Caitlyn. Caitlyn has been linked to acting, singing, and dancing in public family profiles. Crystal is less often named in entertainment news. That does not tell us what either sister does each day. Their lives belong to them. Caleb’s own words offer a better way to understand the group.

He has said the four children grew up with large gaps between some of their ages, but music helped connect them. That is a small fact with real meaning. Family means more than a name. It was also about sharing songs, jokes, and time at home.

Caleb McLaughlin’s Career Brings New Interest in 2026

Many readers find Corey McLaughlin Jr. after they search for Caleb McLaughlin. Caleb became famous as Lucas Sinclair when Stranger Things began in 2016. The fifth and last season ended with a finale on December 31, 2025, in the United States. By 2026, fans could see his full journey through the series.

Caleb has also worked beyond TV. He played young Simba on Broadway in The Lion King and starred in Concrete Cowboy. In 2026, he voiced Will Harris in the animated sports film GOAT. These are Caleb’s roles, not Corey’s. But the new work brings more people to stories about the family that helped raise him.

Is His Age or Net Worth Known?

Some sites give Corey an age or net worth with no clear source. That can confuse readers. The most useful age clue comes from Caleb’s own Podcrushed talk. Caleb described his older brother as 36 during the interview, but did not give his birth date.

There is also no solid public record of Corey’s income, DJ fees, savings, or other money. A famous brother does not prove that a person is rich. It also does not show how much that person earns. A sound biography should leave these details open until there is strong proof from a source that can be checked.

Why Do People Want to Know About Corey?

Interest in Corey McLaughlin Jr. is easy to understand. Fans often want to know who stood beside an actor before the bright lights arrived. For Caleb, family life came before big shows, awards, and film sets. His older siblings were already sharing music with him when he was young.

That does not mean Corey made Caleb famous. Caleb put in years of work to build his career. It means family can be part of the story without taking credit for someone else’s success. Corey also shows that people in one family can choose different paths. One may act. Another may play music and live quietly.

Final Thoughts

Corey McLaughlin Jr. has a link to Hollywood, but he has kept much of his own life private. We know he is Caleb’s older brother, comes from a creative family, and has been described as a DJ. Caleb’s newer stories add warmth to those basic facts.

The rest should stay unclaimed until better sources appear. His story is a reminder that not every person close to a star wants the same kind of fame. He deserves care and respect from curious readers.
